Role description

What You Will Do:
· Owns repair process documentation (manufacturing/repair plans, routings, work instructions) and ensures documents are current and available in systems of record.
· Reviews incoming orders to confirm repair capability and availability of qualified processes; when a qualified process is not available, ensures required authorization and governance steps are completed prior to repair execution.
· Interprets product specifications/requirements and clarifies manufacturing and repair requirements with Engineering/R&D and Product Management as needed.
· Develops, supports, and improves repair processes, workflow, tooling, and equipment layouts; coordinates with stakeholders to implement safe and effective methods.
· Leads and supports QN (Quality Notification) activities; serves as the shop-level authority for Nonconformance Report (NCR) dispositions within defined delegation, and coordinates escalations when required.
·Serves as a process subject-matter expert in assigned areas (e.g., welding, brazing, non-conventional machining) and evaluates new technologies to strengthen safety, quality, and competitiveness.
· Primarily supports process sustainment through issue resolution, documentation updates, and continuous improvement; also supports PPQ/qualification activities.
· Leads continuous improvement using data and statistical tools to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost; supports department and site KPIs.
·Drives digitalization/automation of repair engineering and shop processes (standard work, data capture, visualization) in collaboration with site technical resources.
·Provides engineering guidance for customer technical reporting; supports creation and review of repair/technical reports and may author reports as needed (in partnership with technical writers where available).
· Supports capital and improvement initiatives (CAPEX) in a manufacturing engineering role, including concept development, justification inputs, implementation support, and commissioning/hand-off as applicable.
What You Will Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with major in industrial, manufacturing, mechanical or materials engineering preferred
• Prior experience in design or manufacturing of gas turbine components is preferred.
• Prior lean manufacturing training/experience is helpful.
• Safety-first mindset; identifies hazards and drives safe, compliant methods and standard work.
• Works within controlled systems and engineering standards; implements changes through team collaboration and stakeholder alignment to maintain consistent repair procedures and engineering processes across the repair organization.
• Strong shop-floor support capability: troubleshoots process issues, performs root cause/corrective action, and provides clear, timely engineering direction.
• Collaborates effectively with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other partners; communicates clearly in meetings and written technical content (including customer-facing reporting).
• Proficient with common productivity and analysis tools (e.g., MS Office); able to organize data and use metrics to support decisions and continuous improvement.
• Working knowledge of ERP/QMS tools (e.g., SAP) is preferred; handles sensitive information with professionalism, ethics, and sound judgment.
• Priorities to meet deadlines; works independently on non-routine problems while actively participating in a team environment to achieve shared goals.
• Flexibility to support business needs, including occasional extended hours
Pay Range: $28/hr. - $32/hr.
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
Work Requirements: This role is considered an on-site position located in Winston Salem,NC.
• You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
• Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Travel Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, no travel is required.
