Role description
Job Title: Reporting Engineer
Duration: 6 months+
Workload: Full-time hours
Setup: Hourly rate PAYE contracting inside IR35
Rate: £44.50 p / hour with holiday pay and pension on top
Location: Warrington (3 days onsite) with travel to Cumbria
We’re looking for Reporting Engineers to design and deliver data-driven reporting solutions that turn complex project data into actionable insights within a Project Controls environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain reporting systems, databases, and dashboards
• Analyse complex datasets to produce clear, actionable insights for stakeholders
• Develop visualisations using Power BI and other reporting tools
• Create project control outputs such as Gantt charts, S-curves, and manpower histograms
• Collaborate with engineering, PMO, and data teams to define reporting requirements
• Optimise reporting solutions for performance, accuracy, and usability
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and enhancements to reporting systems
Must-Have Skills:
• Strong Power BI expertise and advanced Excel skills
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis
• Experience in Project Controls / PMO environments (Energy sector preferred)
• Ability to develop dashboards, visualisations, and reporting frameworks
• Solid understanding of baseline management and project reporting metrics
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Nice-to-Have:
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Tableau, or similar platforms
• PMP or equivalent certification
• Experience across Oil & Gas, Nuclear, or Renewables
• UK Security Clearance (or eligibility)
