RUST Lead Engineer -(Python & SQL)

Position : RUST Lead Engineer Duration : Long Term Location: Tampa, FL (Remote) We are seeking a Senior Rust Developer with strong skills in backend development. The ideal candidate has significant experience in Rust, with working knowledge of Python and SQL, and a passion for writing high-performance, scalable, and maintainable code. This role requires someone who is not only technically proficient but also comfortable leading a development team, setting technical direction, and mentoring team members— especially in the context of projects using Rust and Python. You will help shape architecture decisions, enforce coding standards, and ensure delivery of robust, production-ready systems. Job Details: RUST Lead Engineer with Python and SQL Experience • Lead the development of high-performance Rust services integrated with Python (FastAPl Polars) and PostgreSQL. Tackle complex cross-language challenges and drive architecture decisions. • Strong Rust expertise with libraries like tokio, sglx axum, py03, polars, clap, regest • Experience with Python (FastAPI, Polars) and PostgreSQL • Proven ability to debug and optimize multi-language systems, Leadership experience preferred Key Responsibilities • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance services and libraries using Rust. • Collaborate with backend and data engineering teams to integrate Rust components with Python and SQL-based systems. • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and mentorship. • Optimize code for performance, scalability, and reliability. • Develop and maintain internal tools, CLIs, APIs, or data pipelines as needed. • Debug complex issues across language boundaries (Rust < Python <> SQL). Required Qualifications • 8+ years of professional experience in software development. • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Rust in a production environment. • Proficiency in Python and SQL. • Solid understanding of async programming models. • Strong grasp of software engineering principles, version control, testing, and CI/CD workflows. • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments. Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills Rust Ecosystem Experience with one or more of the following Rust libraries or frameworks: • tokio - async runtime py03 - Python bindings sglx- async SQL toolkit • aum / poem - web frameworks • clap - CLI parser • regwest - HTTP client polars - DataFrame library Python Ecosystem • polaris - RataFrame manipulation • fastapi - High-performance web framework SQL / Database Tools • Experience working with PostgreSQL • Comfortable writing optimized queries, managing schemas, and performing data analysis.
