Job Title-SAP BusinessObjects Administrator Location-- San Jose CA or RTP NC(Onsite) Contract Job Summary We are seeking an experienced SAP BusinessObjects (BO) Administrator with strong automation and SDK development expertise to support and enhance our BI landscape. The role focuses on automating SAP BO administration tasks, universe maintenance, SDK-based development, and DevOps integration to improve efficiency, governance, and scalability across the BI platform. The ideal candidate will possess deep hands-on experience in SAP BO 4.x / BI 2024, strong Java and Python programming skills, and proven capabilities in BO SDK, universe design, and system integration. Key Responsibilities SAP BusinessObjects Administration & SDK Development • Develop and maintain Java and Python-based SDK solutions using SAP BO Java SDK / REST Web Services SDK. • Programmatically read, create, modify, and deploy Universes (IDT/UDT) and BO artifacts. • Automate administrative activities such as report lifecycle management, publication, and scheduling. Automation & Scripting • Design and implement automation scripts for: • Universe updates and transport • User and group security management • Report publication and scheduling • Object promotion and content deployment • Reduce manual BO administration through script-driven execution and orchestration. SDK Optimization & Code Modernization • Analyze existing SAP BO SDK scripts and custom tools. • Refactor and re-engineer legacy or inefficient SDK code for: • Improved performance • Better error handling • Automated execution readiness • Ensure SDK code aligns with current SAP BO platform versions and best practices. Universe Design & Maintenance • Translate evolving business and data requirements into technical universe changes. • Automate Universe development and updates in: • Information Design Tool (IDT) • Universe Design Tool (UDT) • Ensure semantic layer consistency, performance optimization, and metadata governance. System Integration & DevOps Enablement • Integrate SAP BO administrative and development processes with: • Version control systems (Git) • CI/CD pipelines • Automated testing frameworks • Enable controlled deployment, rollback, and traceability of BO assets. Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills • Programming Languages: • Strong hands-on experience in Java and Python for automation and system integration. • SAP BusinessObjects: • Extensive experience with SAP BO 4.x / BI 2024. • Strong expertise in: • Universe Design Tool (UDT) • Information Design Tool (IDT) • Central Management Console (CMC) • SDK & APIs: • Proven experience with SAP BO Java SDK. • Hands-on exposure to SAP BO RESTful Web Services SDK.
