SAP Advanced Business Application Programming Developer

Title: SAP ABAP Developer location: Houston TX - Hybrid Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled SAP ABAP Developer with deep expertise in API development and S/4HANA CDS Views. This role will focus on building scalable, secure, and high-performance ABAP APIs and integration solutions, leveraging OData, RAP, CDS Views, and ABAP on HANA to deliver real-time insights and seamless connectivity across SAP S/4HANA and external platforms. Key Responsibilities • API Development & Integration • Design, develop, and manage OData and REST APIs to integrate SAP S/4HANA with Fiori, mobile apps, and external systems. • Build custom BAPIs, RFCs, and IDoc-based interfaces for system-to-system communication. • Collaborate with middleware teams (CPI, PI/PO, BTP, API Gateway) for hybrid and cloud integrations. • Apply security standards (OAuth2, SAML, SSL, API keys) for APIs and services. • S/4HANA CDS Views & ABAP on HANA • Develop Core Data Services (CDS) views to provide data models for analytical and transactional applications. • Implement CDS annotations for Fiori/UI5, exposing views as OData services. • Optimize CDS queries for performance and real-time reporting on HANA. • Create AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures) for complex logic at the database layer. • Support Fiori/UI5 apps through CDS-based data models and services. • General ABAP Development • Work on RICEF objects with a strong focus on Interfaces and Enhancements. • Extend standard SAP functionality using BADIs, User Exits, Enhancements, and Business Events. • Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize ABAP code for performance and stability. • Provide technical documentation, testing, and knowledge transfer. Required Skills & Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. • 8+ years of ABAP development experience, with at least 3+ years on S/4HANA projects. • Strong expertise in: • API development (OData, RAP, REST, SOAP, IDocs, RFCs). • CDS Views (standard and custom), annotations, associations, aggregations. • ABAP on HANA techniques: Open SQL, AMDP, performance tuning. • Experience in exposing CDS Views as OData services for Fiori/UI5. • Familiarity with SAP Gateway, BTP/CPI, API Hub. • Strong debugging, optimization, and performance analysis skills. • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
