SAP Data Engineer

Data Engineer Target Pay Rate: $75 an hour w2 Contract length: 6 months+ Our client is seeking a for a Data Engineer for contract position located in Springfield Ma or Boston Ma. This job is hybrid and requires 3 days a week on site. Job Summa ry: We are seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Senior Data Analyst to support a complex SAP R/3 to S/4HANA finance migration. This individual will play a key role in Enterprise Data Warehouse and Operational warehouse ensuring the Finance Data Mart and warehouse is accurate and business alignment through detailed EDW mapping, validation, and testing efforts across financial domains in EDW.This is a hybrid/in-person role, requiring regular on-site collaboration with business partners, data engineering teams, BI developers, and SAP stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in data analysis, finance, testing, and enterprise systems with a hands-on mind set. Key Responsibili • ties:Lead the creation and maintenance of EDW data mapping documentation between EDW and the Finance system ( • SAP).Collaborate with business and functional leads to gather and clarify financial data transformation and reporting requirem • ents.Support data profiling, cleansing, transformation, and validation activi • ties.Assist in writing and executing test strategies, including unit testing, functional integration testing, and user acceptance testing ( • UAT).Work closely with the BI reporting team to validate data structures and support post-migration reporting n • eeds.Partner with data engineers and solution architects to define and verify transformation r • ules.Log and track issues and support resolution during test cy • cles.Maintain appropriate testing and validation documenta • tion.Contribute to SteerCo reporting by providing data readiness updates, issue status, and impact summa • ries.Work with Project Managers to maintain and support the RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependenc • ies).Collaborate with offshore and onshore teams to align on requirements, deliverables, and timel ines.Skills: Required Qualificat • ions:6+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in finance or enterprise data sys • tems.2+ years working on • SAP.Proficient in SQL and familiar with data validation and reconciliation techni • ques.Functional knowledge of SAP finance modules (GL, AP/AR, FA, • CO).Experience with data mapping, data dictionaries, and transformation logic documenta • tion.Hands-on experience writing and executing test plans including functional integration tes • ting.Strong analytical and communication skills, with ability to work onsite with business stakehol • ders.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SAP Analytics C • loud.Preferred Qualificat • ions:Familiarity with Finance Accounting Transformation and Finance data migra • tion.Experience supporting financial reconciliation, audit readiness, or compliance-driven data initiat • ives.Exposure to cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Az • ure).Comfortable working in hybrid project delivery environments with Agile or waterfall elem ents.
