SAS & Cloud Data Engineer

Engagement Type Contract JOB DUTIES Reviews and provides feedback on the work products of other analysts as requested Responsible for transferring raw data to the appropriate location for use in data analysis projects Wrangles, cleans, and validates agency data sources with minimal guidance Conducts general analysis of agency datasets; serves as project lead, as assigned. Contributes to complex analysis of agency datasets, as requested Contributes to and leads data quality improvement efforts as assigned. Conducts data quality checks to ensure the validity and cleanliness of agency datasets prior to their use in analysis and reporting Oversee and review projects completed by associate analysts, as requested by senior analyst Interprets data and from multiple sources using a variety of analytical techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation, to data mining, to more complex statistical methodologies Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop novel ways of using and reporting out data. Provide technical assistance to program areas for the creation of reports and grant deliverables Develops compelling data visualizations to communicate findings to target audience(s) Presents key findings and summaries of results to internal and external stakeholders Adheres to HIPAA, PII, PHI and other state statutes concerned with protecting data confidentiality and individual privacy Required/Desired Skills Skill Required/Desired Amount of Experience Base SAS (Data Step programming) Required 2 Years PROC SQL Required 2 Years SAS Macro Language Required 2 Years SAS/STAT Required 2 Years Advanced SQL development experience Required 2 Years Python experience for data transformation Required 2 Years Data Warehouse familiarity (i.e. co-locating, curating, and integrating diverse data sources) Required 2 Years Cloud environment (Azure preferred) Required 1 Years Experience working on multi-team projects Highly desired 0 Experience gathering requirements through customer interaction Highly desired 0 Agile project management methodology experience Highly desired 0 Familiarity with Azure DevOps Highly desired 0 Government agency experience (state-level preferred) Highly desired 0 Public health data experience (maternal/child public health data preferred) Highly desired 0 Microsoft AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals Certification Highly desired 0 Microsoft DP-900: Azure Data Fundamentals Certification Highly desired 0
