Overview
We're looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Developer with Active SC Clearance to design, build, and deploy scalable cloud applications and automation pipelines on Microsoft Azure. You'll work across the full development lifecycle - from coding and architecture to CI/CD automation and cloud infrastructure management.
Rate: £475 - £525 / day Outside IR35
Location: Gloucester (1-2 days / week on-site)
Clearance: Active SC Clearance
Start Date: ASAP - 3 month initial contract
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications using Azure services.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (YAML pipelines preferred).
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
• Work closely with development and operations teams to ensure smooth deployments and high availability.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and cost efficiency within Azure.
• Automate testing, deployment, and monitoring processes.
• Manage containers and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service).
• Maintain strong focus on security, compliance, and best practices for Azure environments.
Required Skills & Experience
• Proven experience as an Azure Developer or DevOps Engineer.
• Strong programming skills in C#, .NET, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Azure App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, and Storage Accounts.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps, Git, and YAML pipeline configuration.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform).
• Knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes (AKS).
• Understanding of CI/CD principles, monitoring, and logging (Application Insights, Azure Monitor).
• Familiarity with cloud security principles and Azure Active Directory.
Nice-to-Have
• Experience with microservices and serverless architectures.
• Background in automated testing and DevSecOps.
• Certification such as:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
• Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
