The firm is a leading provider of trade execution in equity, high yield, convertible and international securities for institutional investors and high net worth individuals. Job Description: As part of the Equity Technology team, an opportunity exists for a consultant developer to join the small Securities Finance team to deliver functionality to support the UK/EU T+1 Regulatory initiative. Key Responsibilities & Tasks: • Development of the core in-house platforms. • Build distributed systems and enterprise-grade applications leveraging Java, Spring frameworks, and container technologies. • Integrate with messaging systems and caching solutions for real-time processing. • Implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services. • Own specific projects or issues from start to finish. • Work with colleagues and management to ensure appropriate prioritization. • Unit testing, assisting with user testing, and working closely with the release management team. Qualifications/ Experience: • Deep expertise developing Java-based enterprise applications. • Hands-on experience in Core Java, Spring frameworks, and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). • Strong SQL knowledge, preferably MS SQL Server and/or MySQL. • Experience with Redis caching, and messaging systems such as Kafka, MQ, SQS, and SNS. • Understanding of Securities Lending is desirable, preferably with prior experience in this or a related area, e.g., Equity swaps. • Proficiency in leveraging GitHub Copilot or Claude for productivity gains and to improve code quality. Additional Skills: • Must be able to deliver to tight deadlines. • Ability to work with colleagues around the world. • Excellent communication skills. • Experience in one or more of the following beneficial: Global One, Equilend, Pirum, RabbitMQ, BitBucket (Git), Bamboo, C#.
