Senior Accounting Consultant

Johnson Service Group, a nationally award-winning staffing firm, has an immediate opportunity for a SAP 4Hana Integration Accountant in El Segundo, CA Hybrid | Contract | Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Consultant to support a dynamic accounting team through process improvements and a major ERP transformation. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who can operate as an individual contributor while also providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP • Perform account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve reconciling items • Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by staff, providing detailed feedback and guidance • Prepare high-quality financial analyses and management commentary • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls • Lead accounting projects end-to-end, including planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination • Develop, document, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key accounting processes • Create training materials and documentation to support onboarding and cross-training of staff • Support ERP initiatives, including SAP S/4HANA upgrade and testing activities Qualifications • 5+ years of accounting experience (public accounting experience preferred) • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting • Experience with SAP or SAP S/4HANA • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications • Experience reviewing work and providing feedback to team members • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams Preferred Qualifications • Exposure to ERP implementations or system testing (UAT) • Audit experience • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Co-Pilot) for productivity enhancements • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau JSG offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance options, short-term disability, 401(k), weekly pay, and more.
