Role description
Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Senior Advanced DevOps Engineer – Secret position that just opened in Boulder, CO. In this role, you will contribute to automation that instantiates and maintains container orchestration platforms. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 8 years of related experience. DoD Top Secret clearance is required at time of hire. ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES: As a Senior Advanced DevOps Engineer, you will:
Contribute to automation that instantiates and maintains container orchestration platforms
Automatically configure and deploy infrastructure services consisting of identity and access management, network architecture, application security, logging, monitoring, deployment and more
Work closely with our team to plan major updates and enhancements to our products
In this role, you will be working with critical internal and external platform consumers. Together with the team, you will support successful implementation of the platform in the Cloud through architecture guidance, best practices, data migration, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and more. Candidates should have demonstrated familiarity and experience in some of the following areas:
Experience working with, or are familiar with the differences between, public (AWS, Azure), private (RHOSP, VIO), and mixed cloud environments
Container technologies such as Docker, or Kubernetes
Deployment or use of continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies such as GitLab, Jenkins, Puppet, or Chef
Experience supporting production-grade applications in virtualized environments (cloud computing platforms and services) using automation
Creation or use of pipelines, Ansible Playbooks, and/or Terraform configurations to automate administrative actions from resource creation to service configuration
Effective communication and attention to detail
Other beneficial experience:
IT security practices including encryption, certificates, key management, patch management, STIG, RMF, or security hardening, and auditing
Installation of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) technologies such as Amazon Web Services, OpenStack, RHOSP, or VIO
Management of Cloud Resources in Amazon Web Services, and/or Azure
Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies such as Kubernetes, Rancher, or OpenShift
Cloud automation tooling such as Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, or Packer
Open source server, messaging, load balancing, and database software (such as RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch)
Scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers (NGINX)/Firewalls and web standards (REST APIs, web security mechanisms)
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
Agile experience preferred.
Clearance Requirements
Department of Defense Top Secret clearance required at time of hire.
Applicants may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
U.S. citizenship is required.
