Senior AI Expert
The Senior AI Expert is an enterprise AI leader responsible for one or more high-impact AI projects across Clinical Development. The role owns the strategy, design, implementation, and value realization of AI solutions that support decision milestones, regulatory requirements, and clinical/medical excellence.
Major Accountabilities
β’ AI Program Leadership
Develops and leads AI use case plans ensuring alignment to enterprise strategy, data platforms, and compliance standards
Acts as AI leader, aligning internal stakeholders (such as CD, GMA, Data & Digital, Operations) and external experts (such as AI partners, vendors)
Represents AI in enterprise governance and decision forums
Defines and drives AI strategy and roadmap aligned to business priorities
β’ Delivery & Execution of AI Solutions
Oversees design, development, validation, and scaling of AI solutions
Ensures high quality, robustness, and reproducibility of models
β’ Value Realization & Decision Support
Ensures AI solutions drive measurable business impact ensuring faster decision-making, improved quality of insights and increased productivity
Supports scenario modelling and decision analytics
β’ Governance, Ethics & Risk Management
Ensures compliance with: AI governance frameworks and data privacy and regulatory requirements
Manages AI risks (bias, explainability, data quality)
β’ Capability & Culture Building
Drives upskilling and adoption across Clinical Development
Contributes to AI standards, platforms, and best practices
Key Performance Indicators
AI-enabled improvements in clinical development speed and efficiency
Adoption of AI outputs in decision-making and submissions
Contribution to regulatory-ready evidence and insights
Ideal Background
Education
PhD / MSc in Data Science, AI, Computer Science, or related field
Experience
Domain experience in healthcare / clinical development preferred
Extensive experience and proven track record in delivering AI at scale in enterprise environments
Strong experience in translating business problems into AI solutions
Capabilities
Deep expertise in AI, data science, and analytics
Strong business and clinical understanding
Ability to operate in complex matrix environments and influence senior stakeholders
Location: Remote USA
Pay Rate: $90 - $100/hour W-2 Only (based on Education/Experience)
Contract: 6-month
Health, dental, vision, 401k (provided minimum eligibility hours are met)
