Senior AI/ML Data Scientist

Role: Senior AI/ML Data Scientist (Contract) Location: Miami, FL (Hybrid - 3 days onsite) Level: Senior / Lead About the Role We are seeking a seasoned Senior Data Scientist with a deep specialization in AI/ML to join our team in Miami. You will be responsible for architecting, developing, and deploying production-grade machine learning models that solve complex business challenges. As a senior contractor, you will bring technical leadership to our Python-based ecosystem and help accelerate our AI roadmap. Key Responsibilities • Model Development: Design and implement end-to-end ML pipelines using Python, focusing on scalability and performance. • AI Innovation: Leverage Generative AI (LLMs), NLP, or Computer Vision (depending on project needs) to build transformative features. • Data Engineering Collaboration: Partner with data engineers to optimize data collection, feature engineering, and MLOps workflows. • Technical Leadership: Provide architectural guidance and ensure best practices in coding, version control, and model validation. • Stakeholder Impact: Translate abstract business problems into technical requirements and present data-driven insights to executive leadership. Required Qualifications • Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in Data Science and Machine Learning. • Programming: Mastery of Python and core libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn). • Frameworks: Hands-on expertise with Deep Learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. • Cloud & MLOps: Proven experience deploying models on cloud platforms (AWS/SageMaker, Azure ML, or GCP/Vertex AI) and using tools like Docker or MLflow. • Education: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Preferred Skills • Experience with Generative AI and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures. • Knowledge of distributed computing (Spark/PySpark). • Previous experience in the Miami tech ecosystem or Florida-based industries (Finance, Logistics, or Hospitality).
