This is a steady-state, SLA-driven Managed Services engagement focused on system stability, optimization, and continuous operational excellence—this is not an implementation role. You will ensure seamless, compliant, and accurate end-to-end HCM and payroll lifecycles within a complex, 24/7 healthcare staffing environment. Additionally, you will play a vital role in the initial knowledge transfer and transition phase from the incumbent vendor.
Core Responsibilities 2. End-to-End Payroll Operations 3. Integrations & Cross-Functional Collaboration 4. Governance, Compliance & Transition Required Skills & Experience Preferred Qualifications
• UKG Pro HCM Functional Support
• Provide comprehensive L2/L3 functional support for UKG Pro (including legacy UltiPro platforms), covering Core HR, Benefits Administration, Compensation, and complete Employee Lifecycle events (hires, transfers, leaves, and terminations).
• Manage ongoing system configuration, including organizational structures, job/position management, complex benefit plan eligibility rules, and security role assignments.
• Oversee critical benefits cycles (Open Enrollment, life events, new hire onboarding), validating eligibility logic and downstream carrier feed accuracy.
• Execute mass data updates and system corrections under strict data governance and internal audit controls.
• Support regular, off-cycle, and supplemental payroll processing runs, including pre-payroll validations, gross-to-net reviews, and final post-payroll reconciliations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve payroll variances, including complex tax withholding discrepancies, retro-pay calculations, garnishments, and deduction mismatches.
• Assist with critical financial cycles, including US federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance, quarter-end/year-end processing, and W-2 production.
• Reconcile payroll system outputs against core HRIS data models to guarantee absolute accuracy prior to General Ledger (GL) posting.
• Monitor, test, and troubleshoot critical data bridges between UKG Pro and downstream systems, including corporate ERP/Financial packages, third-party benefits vendors, and insurance carrier feeds.
• Partner closely with cross-functional client stakeholders across HR, Payroll, Finance, and Enterprise IT to trace and resolve data flow bottlenecks.
• Manage incoming incidents and service requests within structured, contractual SLAs using modern ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).
• Ensure total alignment with healthcare regulatory frameworks, maintaining strict controls over sensitive data handling (PII/PHI).
• Document system workarounds and build out standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, and knowledge-base articles.
• Participate actively in the incoming transition and shadowing phase from the incumbent vendor, ensuring a seamless transfer of institutional operational knowledge.
• Professional Experience: 4 +years of dedicated experience supporting HRIS, HCM, and payroll infrastructure.
• Platform Expertise: Proven, hands-on functional experience configuring and supporting UKG Pro (including core HCM and US Payroll modules).
• Domain Knowledge:
• Strong mastery of the complete hire-to-retire lifecycle, compensation structures, and position management.
• Deep comprehension of US payroll processing, including multi-state taxation, deductions, and off-cycle management.
• Operations: Prior experience operating within a structured, SLA-bound shared services or corporate managed services framework.
• Data Security: Familiarity with data privacy standards, specifically handling protected health information (PHI) within a regulated market.
• Logistics: Ability to work US business hours/shifts reliably from an offshore delivery center.
• Experience supporting large-scale US healthcare networks or hospital systems navigating 24/7 shift patterns, multiple pay groups, and union regulations.
• Direct experience handling UKG Pro Business Intelligence (BI), Cognos reporting, or native analytics tools.
• Familiarity with tying UKG payroll outputs into tier-one ERP financial systems (e.g., Infor, Workday, or SAP GL environments).
• Previous experience participating in vendor-to-vendor managed services transitions and stabilization hypercare.
