Senior Analytics Engineer – Databricks / Python / SQL
Location: Spring, TX – Onsite
Contract: 12 months
Pay: Up to $72/hr W-2 or $84/hr C2C
We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to build and support trusted, analytics-ready data products for a major Oil & Gas organization. This role will partner closely with engineering, planning, economics, and data teams to develop scalable data pipelines and reliable datasets supporting forecasting, economics, planning, drilling, completions, and production workflows.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain analytics-ready data products using Databricks, SQL, and Python.
• Build and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines integrating operational, corporate, and third-party data.
• Develop data models and transformation processes for enterprise analytics and decision support.
• Create and maintain curated datasets supporting Spotfire dashboards and self-service analytics.
• Support data flows and analytical workflows used for forecasting and economic evaluation.
• Establish data quality rules, validation processes, documentation, metadata, and data lineage.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Automate manual data preparation and improve the reliability and accessibility of analytical data.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, BI, or Advanced Analytics.
• Advanced SQL experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Strong Python programming experience for data engineering and analytics.
• Hands-on experience developing solutions in Databricks.
• Experience building and maintaining modern ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and data architecture.
• Experience with Spotfire or similar enterprise analytics platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
• Oil & Gas / Energy experience, particularly Upstream or Unconventional operations.
• Experience with ComboCurve or similar forecasting/economic applications.
• Experience supporting reservoir, production, drilling, completions, planning, or economics teams.
• Experience with data governance, data quality, metadata, and lineage.
• Experience developing enterprise-scale analytical data products.
This is an onsite position in Spring, TX. Candidates must be able to work onsite and be comfortable with the listed compensation range.
