Request you to make sure your updated Resume highlights all the below-mentioned required Skills & Experience Position: Senior Application Developer (Natural, VB6, .NET, SQL) Duration:3 years Location: Remote Job Description: Position Overview The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) is seeking experienced IT professionals to support the modernization and transition of the Mississippi Automated Child Welfare Information System (MACWIS) to a modern technology platform. This role is critical to improving service delivery, data accuracy, and system functionality by maintaining and enhancing legacy code while contributing to the development of the new Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS). Contractors will serve as subject matter experts (SMEs), helping bridge the gap between legacy and modernized environments, while ensuring compliance with state and federal child welfare requirements. Key Responsibilities β€’ Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance legacy Natural and Visual Basic 6 (VB6) systems in production. β€’ Perform source data analysis and cleanup scripting (SQL, Natural) for: β€’ De-duplication of non-licensed resources, persons, and orphaned records. β€’ Data integrity issues such as undefined genders and self-relationship mismatches. β€’ Support data migration planning and execution from legacy MACWIS to modern CCWIS platform. β€’ Develop and validate scripts for data quality remediation and migration support. β€’ Participate in DMT validation and general testing activities. β€’ Collaborate with business and IT teams to translate child welfare requirements into technical specifications. β€’ Represent MDCPS as a senior technical SME in project meetings, planning sessions, and inter-agency collaborations. β€’ Contribute to system design sessions, documentation, and technical planning for modernization. Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills β€’ 10+ years – Natural Programming Language. β€’ 10+ years – Visual Basic 6 (VB6). β€’ 10+ years – SQL programming (data integration, batch processing, file-based routines). β€’ Strong proficiency with .NET Framework (C#, ASP.NET). β€’ Proven experience maintaining and enhancing legacy production systems. β€’ Experience with code refactoring, modularization, and modernization transition. β€’ Familiarity with data mapping, conversion, and system-to-system migration planning. β€’ Proficiency with source control tools and change management practices (Git, SVN, TFS). Child Welfare System Experience β€’ Prior experience with Child Welfare Information Systems (SACWIS, MACWIS, or CCWIS). β€’ Understanding of child welfare business processes (case management, intake, service planning, licensing, reporting). β€’ Ability to translate child welfare program requirements into functional/technical specifications. Professional Experience β€’ Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced production support environments. β€’ Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (analysts, testers, project managers). β€’ Skilled in technical documentation and design contributions. β€’ Proven ability to act as an agency SME in technical meetings. Soft Skills β€’ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. β€’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills. β€’ Self-motivated, able to work independently or within a team. β€’ Leadership experience in mentoring or leading development tasks.
