Required Skills & Experience
• 2–5 years of experience in a deployment engineering, application operations, solutions engineering, systems administration, or technical application support role
• Experience installing, configuring, and supporting enterprise applications in cloud-hosted or on-premises environments
• Basic to intermediate Linux administration skills, including command-line proficiency and shell scripting
• Familiarity with SQL or relational database technologies (SQL Server, PL/SQL, or equivalent)
• Interest in and exposure to deployment and configuration automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar)
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a methodical, ownership-oriented approach to problem resolution
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical work clearly and communicate with senior stakeholders when needed
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and operate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
• Experience working in or willingness to learn HIPAA-regulated or compliance-driven environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Hands-on experience with J2EE middleware platforms such as WebLogic, WebSphere, or JBoss
• Experience with AWS-hosted application environments and cloud operations
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Exposure to monitoring and alerting tools used in application operations contexts
• Experience in healthcare IT or payer technology environments
Job Description
We are seeking a curious, technically driven Application Services Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrading, and operational support of applications across our AWS-hosted cloud environments and customer-hosted instances. You will work within the agile deployment methodology, leveraging automation tooling, environment management platforms, and third-party integrations to deliver reliable, high-quality application deployments for our health plan customers. This is a hands-on role well suited to someone with an engineering mindset who is eager to grow, takes ownership of their work, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
Compensation:
$70/hr to $75/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
