Role description
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A .NET DEVELOPER POSITION Senior Application Support Developer Mode of work : REMOTE The candidate’s primary responsibility will be to maintain and troubleshoot legacy systems (Natural, VB6, SQL), and to develop and validate scripts for data cleanup, integrity, and migration. Secondary responsibilities include supporting the transition of MACWIS to a modern .NET/CCWIS platform, participating in testing and validation, ensuring overall data accuracy, and serving as a subject matter expert in technical meetings and planning sessions. Requirements: Child Welfare Systems Expertise β€’ Prior experience with Child Welfare Information Systems (SACWIS, MACWIS, CCWIS preferred) β€’ Solid understanding of child welfare business processes including case management, intake, service planning, licensing, and reporting β€’ Ability to translate program requirements into clear functional and technical specifications Technical Skills & Experience β€’ 10+ years of hands-on experience with Natural Programming Language β€’ 10+ years of experience with Visual Basic 6 β€’ 10+ years of experience with SQL β€’ Proficiency in .NET Framework (C#, ASP.NET) β€’ Extensive background in maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting legacy production systems β€’ Strong expertise in data integration, batch processing, and file-based interfaces β€’ Skilled in code refactoring, modularization, and transitioning legacy systems to modern platforms β€’ Experienced in data mapping, conversion, and migration planning across systems β€’ Proficient with source control tools and change management practices (Git, SVN, TFS)
