Senior Application Developer - DevOps Engineer | Fully Remote (U.S. Based) | Contract (W2 Only) There are no Corp-to-Corp options or Visa Sponsorship available for this position. Optomi, in partnership with a financial services client, is seeking a Senior Application Developer / DevOps Engineer for a fully remote role. This individual will join a highly complex, multi-stack environment supporting infrastructure, application development, and cloud-based solutions across a portfolio of financial clients. This is an opportunity to work with a U.S.-based team on a wide variety of mission-critical applications, where you'll own technical solutions from end to end, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and work alongside thought leaders in DevOps and application architecture. Experience of the right candidate: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience). • 5+ years of experience in application development, DevOps, or solution architecture. • Strong experience with Java, Tomcat, Apache, Oracle DB, and Docker. • Deep technical understanding of F5 Load Balancers, Application Gateways, and networking fundamentals. • Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting both cloud (Azure preferred) and on-prem environments. • Ability to understand and work across entire technology stacks: application, network, and database. • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to propose solutions proactively. Preferred Qualifications: • Prior experience in the financial services sector. • Knowledge of Oracle DBCS, Azure-hosted applications, and containerized deployments. • Background as an Application Developer with cross-functional skills in infrastructure and networking. • Experience working with globally distributed teams (U.S./India). • Strong soft skills: communication, initiative, and ability to lead without being asked. • "Go-getter" mindset — thrives in fast-paced, complex technical environments. Responsibilities of the right candidate: • Serve as a lead technical resource for applications running across hybrid infrastructure. • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across application, network, and DB layers. • Configure and optimize F5 Load Balancers, Gateways, and cloud components. • Collaborate with U.S. and offshore teams to ensure effective issue resolution and project delivery. • Identify opportunities for improvement and drive implementation of best practices. • Support a cluster of financial clients with scalable, high-availability solutions. • Bring a strategic perspective to long-term architecture and technical direction.
