Senior AWS Developer

Our Client, a Global Financial Services Firm, is seeking a Data Engineer in their New York, NY location. Join a high-impact Risk Technology team driving the transformation of a modern, scalable enterprise risk platform. This role will play a key part in building cloud-native solutions that support risk analytics, data modeling, reporting, and management systems across the organization. You’ll contribute across the full development lifecycle—from design through deployment and production support—while partnering closely with engineering, DevOps, and risk stakeholders. What You’ll Do • Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS services (Lambda, SQS, SNS, API Gateway) • Build and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, and Helm • Develop backend services and automation scripts using Python and Boto3 • Implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform • Contribute to the end-to-end build of risk technology components supporting analytics, modeling, and reporting • Partner with architects, product, and DevOps teams to define and execute cloud strategy • Collaborate with risk stakeholders to gather requirements and troubleshoot issues • Support production environments and resolve incidents across distributed systems • Contribute to design discussions, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives Required Experience & Skills • 7+ years of hands-on AWS cloud development experience • Strong expertise with AWS services including Lambda, SQS, SNS, IAM, CloudWatch, and API Gateway • Experience with Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, and Helm for container orchestration and deployment • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and AWS SDKs (e.g., Boto3) • Solid understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven design patterns • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation • AWS Certified Developer (Associate) or AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) preferred • Strong problem-solving and communication skills Domain Experience • Exposure to market risk and/or credit risk environments strongly preferred Education • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline preferred
