Responsibilities Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior AWS Python Data Engineer in Houston, TX. Summary: We are supporting a Fortune 100 enterprise in the energy and infrastructure sector in building out a next-generation cloud-based data and AI platform. We are looking for a Senior Python Data Engineer to join a high-impact team focused on developing scalable, production-ready data and machine learning systems on AWS. This role is ideal for a senior engineer with deep Python expertise, strong cloud-native engineering skills, and a passion for turning data science models into business-critical solutions. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Collaborate with Data Scientists and Platform Engineers to build scalable ML and data systems β€’ Develop and maintain high-performance, distributed data pipelines and machine learning infrastructure β€’ Convert machine learning models into production-ready services and APIs β€’ Automate model training, validation, deployment, and inferencing pipelines β€’ Design fault-tolerant, secure, and cost-effective cloud-native architectures using AWS services β€’ Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK β€’ Build CI/CD pipelines for deployment and testing automation β€’ Establish software engineering best practices including modularity, reusability, test coverage, and documentation Requirements β€’ 5+ years of professional experience developing backend systems using Python β€’ Strong background in building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and distributed systems β€’ Experience deploying machine learning models and managing ML workflows in production β€’ Solid understanding of software engineering principles including design patterns, version control, unit testing, and CI/CD β€’ Familiarity with object-oriented and functional programming practices β€’ Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices β€’ Proven experience with cloud engineering on AWS, especially services like SageMaker, Glue, Lake Formation, and Athena β€’ Infrastructure as Code experience using CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK β€’ Experience with graph technologies and knowledge graphs (e.g., Neo4j, Amazon Neptune) is a plus Preferred Qualifications β€’ Prior experience working with machine learning operations (MLOps) or AI platform teams β€’ Knowledge of knowledge graph construction and semantic modeling β€’ Background in big data environments and real-time data processing frameworks Why This Role β€’ Work on high-visibility AI/ML projects powering critical business decisions β€’ Join a forward-thinking team focused on cloud-first, data-driven transformation β€’ Long-term project with potential for extension or full-time conversion β€’ Opportunity to influence architecture and platform strategy in a cloud-native environment The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.
