Senior Azure Data Engineering Lead Plano, TX (Onsite – Local Candidates Only) 6+ Months Contract-to-Hire We are seeking a Senior Azure Data Engineering Lead to drive the design, development, and evolution of our enterprise data platform. This role will lead the architecture and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions that enable analytics, reporting, and strategic decision-making across the organization. If you are passionate about building modern data ecosystems, ensuring data quality, and mentoring engineering teams — this is an opportunity to make a significant impact. 🔹 What You’ll Do • Architect, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines within Azure data services. • Design and implement API-driven data integrations to support growing data complexity and system interoperability. • Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, and BI developers to enhance data models and improve reporting performance (Power BI). • Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT processes across diverse enterprise data sources. • Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance to ensure high availability and reliability. • Establish and enforce data governance, quality, lineage, and metadata management frameworks. • Lead long-term data platform strategy in collaboration with business and technology teams. • Implement CI/CD workflows and DevOps best practices using tools such as Git. • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to cross-functional Agile initiatives. 🔹 Required Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related fields. • Strong hands-on expertise in Python and SQL. • Deep experience with dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and database design. • Proven experience building pipelines using Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks, Event Hubs). • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and secure data design. • Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments with CI/CD pipelines. • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. 🔹 Preferred Qualifications • Experience leading enterprise data migrations and large-scale transformations. • Familiarity with Azure data governance tools such as Purview. • Microsoft DP-203 (Azure Data Engineer Associate) certification.
