Senior Azure Databricks Engineer (Hybrid)

Position: Senior Azure Databricks Engineer Industry: Banking Type: 12 months contract to hire Location: Charlotte, NC (3x hybrid) Day to day: • Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines in Azure Databricks using PySpark, SQL, and Delta Lake. • Manage Lakehouse architecture, Delta tables, and performance tuning. • Develop and orchestrate jobs and workflows via Databricks and ADF. • Configure clusters for cost and performance efficiency. • Implement security, RBAC, and CI/CD for Databricks deployments. • Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline issues and cluster performance. • Collaborate with data teams to enable scalable data access. • Document best practices and mentor junior engineers. Must haves: • 10+ years of total work experience. • Experience with Azure Databricks and Azure cloud services and solutions is a MUST. • Proven experience as a Data Engineer in a large-scale enterprise environment, with experience in the banking sector. • In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies. • Strong understanding of cloud computing, microservices architecture, API management, and emerging technologies. • Experience with EA tools like LeanIX, Ardoq is helpful. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Salary and Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is between $70 - $75 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
