Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer specializing in Rubrik and Quantum engineering to join our dynamic IT team. Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive backup strategies utilizing Rubrik solutions to optimize data protection across on-premises and cloud environments.
Design, implement, and maintain disaster recovery plans aligned with business continuity objectives, ensuring rapid recovery from various failure scenarios.
Manage Quantum storage systems and integrate them seamlessly with backup solutions to enhance data durability and scalability.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues proactively, and perform regular testing of backup and disaster recovery procedures to validate effectiveness.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess infrastructure needs, recommend improvements, and implement best practices for data security and compliance.
Lead incident response efforts related to data loss or system failures, coordinating recovery activities efficiently and effectively.
Stay current with evolving backup technologies, industry standards, and compliance requirements to continuously improve disaster recovery capabilities.
Backup & Data Protection
Administer and optimize Rubrik backup environments
Configure SLA domains and backup policies
Manage backup lifecycle and retention policies
Monitor backup health and capacity planning
Replication & DR
Configure and manage Zerto replication
Design DR workflows for failover and failback
Conduct DR testing and documentation
Validate RPO/RTO compliance
Infrastructure Integration
Support VMware-based environments
Work with storage platforms (Pure, NetApp, etc.)
Integrate backup solutions with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS if applicable)
Support isolated recovery environment (IRE) testing
Governance & Compliance
Maintain backup audit documentation
Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
Develop DR runbooks and recovery documentation
Configure SLA domains and backup policies
Manage backup lifecycle and retention policies
Monitor backup health and capacity planning
Qualifications
5+ years of enterprise backup & disaster recovery experience
Proven experience in enterprise backup solutions with a strong focus on Rubrik platforms.
Extensive knowledge of disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing in complex IT environments.
Hands-on experience working with Quantum engineering principles or systems is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of storage architectures, virtualization technologies, and cloud integrations.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues swiftly.
Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and documenting procedures clearly.
Relevant certifications such as Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE), Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), or equivalent are a plus.
