Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Broadcom GEN Developer / Enterprise Data Modeler with extensive experience supporting enterprise-level systems in a mission-critical environment. The consultant will join the Rates & Payments (R&P) Applications Team, working closely with GEN developers, DBAs, business analysts, and modernization teams.
This role focuses on business process analysis, GEN model development, and implementation of GEN-based solutions supporting actuarial, rating, and payment-related components within the R&P system. The ideal candidate will be capable of independently designing, developing, testing, and supporting complex GEN applications across both batch and online environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform business process analysis and translate requirements into GEN models and action diagrams
• Design, develop, and maintain Broadcom GEN applications
• Develop and test server procedures and batch processes
• Support reporting tools including Reports Composer, SOA Composer, and Crystal Reports
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across multiple systems
• Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and business analysts to ensure system stability and accuracy
• Contribute to modernization initiatives involving Oracle, Windows batch, and distributed processing
• Support enterprise data modeling and database design activities
• Participate in system enhancements, testing, and production support
Required Skills & Experience
• 10+ years of Broadcom GEN development experience
• Strong expertise in enterprise data modeling and database design
• Experience working with mainframe and distributed platforms
• Experience with SAS and reporting tools
• Strong knowledge of batch scheduling and operations
• Experience with scripting and automation
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and leadership skills
Preferred Skills
• Experience with Reports Composer, SOA Composer, and Crystal Reports
• Strong experience analyzing business requirements and actuarial/payment logic
• Experience developing GEN-based solutions for rating, reserving, payroll/premium, and employer program functions
• Experience working with highly normalized enterprise data models
• Experience in large enterprise IT environments (100+ IT staff)
• Experience supporting modernization initiatives involving Oracle and Windows batch processing
• Knowledge of SDLC processes and quality assurance practices
