Role description
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – 3 days onsite required) Duration: April 2026 – August 2026 (Extension Possible) Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST Hours: Up to 1,040 hours Work Authorization: U.S.-based candidates only (Local candidates required) Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Data Analyst / Agile Project Lead to support a large-scale data and analytics platform initiative. This role blends business analysis, data analysis, project management, QA oversight, and Scrum leadership. You will play a critical role in expanding enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities while acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, internal IT teams, and external vendors. Key Responsibilities Business & Data Analysis β€’ Analyze business systems, workflows, and user needs to align with organizational strategy β€’ Gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements β€’ Perform data analysis on raw datasets to support reporting and analytics solutions β€’ Lead business process mapping and reengineering initiatives β€’ Develop detailed functional specifications and system documentation Project & Program Management β€’ Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables β€’ Provide regular status reporting, executive updates, and risk assessments β€’ Conduct financial analysis including cost/benefit, ROI, and buy vs. build evaluations β€’ Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies Agile / Scrum Leadership β€’ Serve as Scrum Master for the project team β€’ Facilitate sprint ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) β€’ Coordinate with internal teams and vendor development teams β€’ Ensure alignment between business priorities and Agile delivery Stakeholder & Vendor Management β€’ Act as the primary liaison between business units, IT teams, and vendors β€’ Lead meetings with stakeholders and vendor sprint teams β€’ Ensure clear communication and alignment across all parties β€’ Support Quality Assurance (QA) activities and validation processes Required Qualifications β€’ 8+ years of experience in: β€’ Business Analysis β€’ Project Management β€’ Managing enterprise-scale data or analytics projects β€’ Agile project delivery (preferably in government or large enterprise environments) β€’ 5+ years serving as a liaison between business and IT teams (Architecture, Delivery, Support, etc.) β€’ Strong experience in: β€’ Data analysis (working with raw data) β€’ Requirements gathering and documentation β€’ Business process reengineering β€’ Proven ability to work independently on complex initiatives with minimal supervision β€’ Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience with Jira or similar project management tools β€’ Background in Quality Assurance (QA) β€’ Experience with structured delivery frameworks (e.g., state or enterprise frameworks) β€’ Familiarity with data/reporting platforms and analytics environments β€’ Agile certifications: β€’ Certified Scrum Master (CSM) β€’ PMI-ACP or equivalent β€’ PMP certification is a strong plus Work Environment β€’ Hybrid role: β€’ 3 days onsite (Tuesday–Thursday required) β€’ 2 days remote (subject to change; may increase onsite requirement) β€’ Must be local to Austin, TX β€’ Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required (pre-approved)
