Role description
Hybrid Every other week onsite/5 days in either Westlake, TX, Smithfield, RI or Merrimack, NH Our client is seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst to drive the enablement of large-scale, event-driven platforms and services. In this role, you will leverage a blend of business, data, and technology expertise to help clients integrate messaging and streaming solutions. The organization is advancing event-driven data platforms and governance at enterprise scale. The team partners with cross-functional stakeholders to accelerate onboarding, reduce risk, and improve data integrity through actionable standards and enablement. The role supports exceptional customer experiences by aligning architecture, security, and product objectives. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $55.00 to $65.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities β€’ Drive enablement of event-driven platforms and services for client teams. β€’ Guide onboarding to data streaming and messaging platforms such as Kafka or Artemis. β€’ Review solution architectures and integration patterns for data quality, security, and compliance risks. β€’ Facilitate data governance processes including metadata, lineage, classification, stewardship, retention, and access controls. β€’ Collaborate with platform engineering, security, architecture, and product teams to align on standards and decisions. β€’ Apply AI tools to accelerate governance tasks, summarize designs, and surface anomalies. β€’ Design repeatable intake processes, readiness checklists, decision logs, and onboarding playbooks. β€’ Lead design reviews, working sessions, and remediation coaching with an enablement mindset. β€’ Use SQL and profiling tools to validate data quality, schema compatibility, and downstream impacts. β€’ Create high-quality documentation such as architecture review notes, governance assessments, onboarding guides, and FAQs. β€’ Promote operational clarity with transparent intake paths and readiness criteria. β€’ Advance quality and consistency for schema lifecycle hygiene across event-driven solutions. Experience Requirements β€’ 3 to 5+ years in business or data analysis, data governance, or platform enablement. β€’ Proficiency with SQL and data profiling for validation and impact analysis. β€’ Hands-on experience onboarding teams to data or streaming platforms such as Kafka or messaging systems such as Artemis or equivalent. β€’ Proven ability to assess architectures and integration patterns for data quality, security, and compliance. β€’ Experience facilitating data governance across metadata, lineage, classification, stewardship, retention, and access controls. β€’ Background collaborating with platform engineering, security, architecture, and product teams. β€’ Familiarity with regulated environments and enterprise data standards such as SOX, HIPAA, PCI, GDPR, or CCPA. β€’ Experience using AI or ML tools to automate or enhance governance activities. β€’ Exposure to event-driven architectures, pub or sub design, and schema management such as schema registry. β€’ Experience building and maintaining documentation, workflows, and onboarding playbooks. β€’ Ability to interpret solution diagrams, sequence flows, and integration designs and identify gaps and noncompliance. β€’ Strong grasp of data classification, lineage, stewardship, access provisioning, retention, encryption, and audit requirements. β€’ Process design skills to build scalable intake processes and decision logs. β€’ Stakeholder management skills to translate technical constraints into business risk and align with platform standards. β€’ Excellence in documentation for reviews, assessments, and guides. β€’ Comfort with Jira or Azure DevOps, Confluence or SharePoint, data catalog and lineage tools, and CI or CD-adjacent workflows. β€’ Strong facilitation and communication skills to lead reviews and coach teams.
