Note: Only local candidates will be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who are currently out of state and are planning to move to Texas will not be considered. Candidates must already reside in Texas.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join an Agile team supporting enterprise reporting, analytics, and data initiatives. This individual will serve as a senior Business/Systems Analyst responsible for gathering business and technical requirements, translating complex data needs into actionable solutions, supporting testing efforts, and delivering high-quality reporting and analytics.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with complex datasets, strong SQL and Business Intelligence expertise, and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This role will also help support AI-enabled analytics by assisting users with retrieving, validating, and interpreting data from enterprise reporting platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Gather business, technical, and data requirements from stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop and maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead testing efforts by creating test plans, test scenarios, and test cases within Agile and Waterfall environments.
• Translate complex operational and data requests into actionable queries for analytics platforms and AI-enabled solutions.
• Extract, integrate, analyze, and validate data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Collaborate with business users, analysts, and technical teams to develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
• Explain technical findings, reporting limitations, and data quality considerations to non-technical stakeholders.
• Validate AI-generated outputs and identify potential inaccuracies.
• Ensure reporting complies with established data governance, quality, and reporting standards.
• Develop standardized AI prompt libraries and reporting templates.
• Conduct training sessions to improve data literacy across the organization.
• Create documentation and best practices for reporting and AI-enabled analytics.
• Partner with business, IT, and data engineering teams to troubleshoot data issues and improve reporting processes.
• Stay current on emerging Business Intelligence, analytics, and AI technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Required
• 10 years of experience gathering business requirements and translating complex data requests and operational requirements into clear, actionable queries for complex analytics data sources.
• 10 years of experience explaining technical findings and data limitations in simple, non-technical language to end-users.
• 10 years of experience in a complex data analysis, senior business/systems analyst, and/or data liaison role.
• 10 years of strong SQL experience for data extraction and manipulation.
• 10 years of experience collaborating with end-users and performance analysts or IT leaders to create and validate reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for program monitoring and official reporting.
• 10 years of excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• 10 years of experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and/or Tableau.
Preferred
• 5 years of experience with Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse.
• 5 years of experience working in a health and human services or similarly regulated environment, with a strong understanding of program data and reporting requirements.
• 5 years of experience with data governance and data quality principles.
• 2 years of experience championing data literacy across the organization by developing and conducting training sessions for non-technical staff.
• 2 years of experience training and mentoring staff with varying levels of data literacy.
• 1 year of experience creating AI prompt catalogs using tools such as Streamlit with Python.
• 1 year of experience applying responsible AI practices and compliance with organizational standards.
