About the Role
Paramint is supporting an NYC based government agenct on a Business Intelligence & Reporting (BIR) initiative focused on operational reporting, data quality, and executive dashboards across youth programs.
We’re looking for a senior, dependable BI consultant who is comfortable operating in a public-sector environment: structured meetings, clear communication, accountability, and zero surprises.
This is a restart engagement following a funding pause, so we need someone who can ramp quickly, communicate proactively, and own deliverables end-to-end.
What You’ll Do
Serve as a hands-on BI lead / senior contributor on a government analytics project
Build, enhance, and maintain dashboards and reports for program, fiscal, and executive stakeholders
Support data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting across multiple data sources
Participate in daily standups, working sessions, and stakeholder reviews (attendance is critical)
Collaborate closely with DYCD IT, program teams, and Paramint leadership
Clearly communicate risks, blockers, and progress — early and often
Core Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
7+ years experience in Business Intelligence / Analytics / Data Reporting
Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (DAX, Power Query) or equivalent enterprise BI tools
Familiar with and comfortable implementing ETL / data pipelines
Solid SQL skills (reading, writing, debugging queries)
Azure or AWS data stacks
Experience working with messy, real-world data (not just clean warehouse tables)
Prior experience with government, public sector, or regulated enterprise clients
Excellent communication and reliability
Shows up to meetings
Flags conflicts in advance
Understands stakeholder-facing accountability
Authorized to work in the U.S (No sponsorships / W-2 only)
Nice to Have (Strong Pluses)
NYC agency experience (DYCD, DOE, HRA, MOCS, etc.)
Retool, Looker, Tableau, or similar tools
Experience supporting compliance, performance, or equity reporting
Comfort explaining data to non-technical stakeholders
Engagement Details
Contract duration: Ongoing (FY25–FY26)
Hours: ~20–40 hrs/week depending on phase
Start: Immediate (1–2 weeks preferred)

Actively contributing to dashboards and data validation
