The role requires a strong command of Azure data services, SQL, DAX, Power Query (M), and emerging AI/ML tools (Claude, Copilot, Databricks Genie). You will be the primary BI technical resource for the Concord site, working directly with local SMEs and cross-functional stakeholders to drive data-driven decision-making and digital transformation.
The Senior BI Developer will serve as the primary local technical resource β enabling local BI adoption, supporting GMP-compliant reporting, and helping the site leverage cutting-edge AI/ML and self-service analytics tools.
Responsibilities:
Power BI Report & Dashboard Development
β’ Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards aligned to enterprise BI standards and GMP compliance requirements.
β’ Create and replicate GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) reports from other sites; develop non-GMP reports for local Concord site-specific needs.
β’ Implement DAX measures, calculated tables, and row-level security (RLS); optimize report performance and data refresh cycles.
β’ Apply Power Query (M) transformations and advanced data modeling techniques (star schema, composite models) for scalable analytics.
Databricks Lakehouse & Data Engineering
β’ Develop and maintain staging, refined, and analytical data layers within the Databricks Lakehouse architecture (Unity Catalog).
β’ Write and optimize complex SQL queries, CTEs, window functions, views, and stored procedures on Databricks SQL and Azure SQL Server.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues across Power BI, Databricks, Denodo, and SQL Server environments.
β’ Create and maintain stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, jobs, and data backups.
AI-Powered & Self-Service Analytics
β’ Design, build, and maintain Databricks Genie agents and natural-language query spaces for end-user self-service analytics.
β’ Curate semantic models, example queries, and business glossaries to ensure accurate, governed AI responses.
β’ Leverage AI-powered development tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, Databricks AI features) to accelerate SQL optimization, report development, and data profiling.
β’ Evaluate emerging AI/ML capabilities relevant to BI and manufacturing analytics; support configuration of NLQ interfaces for business users.
β’ Develop and deploy AI applications integrated with Azure ecosystem; experience with MCP connectors and Agentic AI Architecture preferred.
Data Integration & ETL
β’ Design, develop, and implement Data Integration (DI) processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources for analytical needs.
β’ Leverage Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Databricks pipelines for end-to-end ETL orchestration.
β’ Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance compliance within Azure Data Lake and Databricks Unity Catalog.
GMP Documentation & Validation
β’ Create test protocols, test scripts, and other validation deliverables per GMP regulatory requirements.
β’ Provide comprehensive documentation for reports, dashboards, data models, and custom solutions.
β’ Maintain audit-ready documentation in compliance with pharma/manufacturing quality standards.
Stakeholder Support & Knowledge Transfer
β’ Provide technical support to local Concord end users on BI reports and dashboards.
β’ Conduct knowledge-transfer sessions; create user guides and training materials for non-technical stakeholders.
β’ Collaborate with local SMEs to ensure DI and BI deliverables meet site-specific business requirements.
