Overview:
Chapman Tate is working with a leading organisation who are seeking a highly experienced Senior BI Developer on a 6-month contract to lead the development of a new Power BI enterprise reporting suite, supporting multiple functions including Sales, Finance, HR, Commercial, and Logistics.
Essential Skills & Experience:
• Expert-level Power BI skills including DAX, Power Query (M), and semantic model design
• Experience working with Power BI Premium and optimising for performance and scalability
• Strong understanding of data architecture principles (e.g. star schema, data lakehouse environments)
• Solid SQL experience for data transformation, validation, and extraction
• Proven experience building reusable, governed datasets across reporting domains
• Demonstrated ability to automate manual reporting processes in a commercial environment
• Experience supporting and training business users, including super users
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a BI Developer or Data Analyst role
• Background working with financial and operational data (distribution/supply chain/manufacturing is advantageous)
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI semantic data models and datasets
• Collaborate with Data Architects to align schema and data definitions
• Develop and deploy enterprise-level dashboards across core business domains
• Automate manual reporting processes and reduce reporting lead times
• Enable self-service reporting through training, mentoring, and reusable templates
• Implement RLS, workspace governance, and performance optimisation best practices
• Partner with business stakeholders and Data Business Partners to translate needs into BI solutions
• Validate outputs and ensure accuracy against existing reports
• Champion data use and analytics adoption across the organisation
