Senior Business Systems & Data Analyst (Enterprise Modernization)

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – Onsite & Remote) Duration: April 2026 – June 2026 (Extension Possible) Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST Hours: Up to 750 hours Work Authorization: U.S.-based candidates only Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems & Data Analyst to support enterprise application modernization and enhancement initiatives within a large, complex technology environment. This role will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT delivery teams, helping translate business needs into clear technical requirements and actionable system improvements. The selected consultant will perform business analysis, data analysis, process evaluation, and documentation to support large-scale system modernization initiatives and ongoing application enhancements. The ideal candidate brings strong experience analyzing business processes, system workflows, and raw data, along with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including architecture, application delivery, and system support teams. Key Responsibilities Business Analysis & Requirements Management • Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems, processes, and user needs. • Gather and document functional and technical requirements to support system enhancements and modernization initiatives. • Translate business requirements into clear specifications, user stories, and system documentation. Data Analysis & Validation • Analyze raw system data and datasets to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities. • Validate system functionality and data accuracy during application enhancements and updates. • Support analysis activities to ensure data consistency and integrity across systems. Process Improvement & Business Transformation • Perform business process analysis and reengineering to improve operational efficiency. • Develop current-state and future-state process documentation using industry-standard process mapping techniques. • Identify opportunities where technology solutions can improve business performance. Solution Evaluation & Documentation • Prepare solution options and recommendations, including risk identification and mitigation strategies. • Perform financial analysis such as cost-benefit assessments, ROI, and buy/build analysis when evaluating technology solutions. • Document detailed descriptions of user needs, system functions, and implementation steps. Stakeholder Coordination & Program Support • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, including architecture, project delivery, and application support groups. • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to support application enhancement initiatives. • Assist with oversight of documentation, deliverables, and integration efforts across multiple technology initiatives. Required Qualifications • 8+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or data analysis roles. • Demonstrated experience analyzing business systems and gathering technical requirements. • Strong experience performing data analysis on raw datasets to support business and technology decisions. • Experience documenting business processes, workflows, and system requirements. • Proven ability to work as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT delivery teams. • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills. • Ability to independently manage complex analysis tasks with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications • Experience working in Agile or SAFe development environments. • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise system modernization initiatives. • Knowledge of healthcare, Medicaid, or large government program systems. • PMP certification or project management experience is a plus.
