Role description
Senior Data AI Engineer – Medical Provider Credentialing (Python, AI)
Remote- flexible hours as long as you are available between 8-6 EST
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data / AI Engineer with deep Python backend expertise, hands-on experience in medical provider credentialing, and a strong track record building large-scale web automation and crawling systems.
This role focuses on developing backend services and AI-assisted workflows that automate complex, real-world provider credentialing, verification, and enrollment processes across fragmented and often inconsistent data sources.
This is a short-term 3 month contract engagement, with a strong likelihood of extension based on successful delivery of an initial proof of concept.
Must-Have Qualifications
• Strong backend engineering experience in Python, including production-grade services and data pipelines
• Hands-on experience using Claude-based AI tooling (Claude APIs, prompt engineering, AI-assisted workflows)
• Direct experience with medical provider credentialing, including:
• Provider enrollment
• Licensure verification
• Sanctions checks
• Payer credentialing and re-credentialing workflows
• Proven experience building robust web crawlers and automation systems.
• Demonstrated ability to handle real-world automation challenges, including:
• Authentication and session management
• Rate limiting and retries
• CAPTCHA or anti-bot defenses
• Frequent UI, layout, or workflow changes
• Strong understanding of backend architectures, APIs, and data processing pipelines
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field
• Availability to work 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST to support close collaboration with product and stakeholder teams
Nice-to-Have Experience
• Experience with agentic AI frameworks or autonomous AI agents
• Combining web crawlers with LLMs for intelligent extraction, validation, normalization, or decisioning
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards, regulatory considerations, or compliance constraints
• Experience building POCs that transition into production systems
What You’ll Do
• Design, build, and maintain scalable Python-based backend services
• Develop and operate resilient web crawling and automation pipelines for provider credentialing data collection
• Build systems that can reliably extract and normalize data from dynamic, real-world web sources
• Integrate Claude-based AI capabilities to:
• Assist with data extraction and interpretation
• Normalize inconsistent credentialing data
• Automate decisioning and workflow steps
• Collaborate closely with product, data, and AI teams to rapidly iterate and deliver high-impact solutions
• Ensure systems meet expectations for performance, reliability, observability, and maintainability
