Role description
THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING
Youβll join a newly formed AI Center of Excellence (CoE) within a large, asset-intensive organization in the transportation and industrial services sector. The CoE was created to govern, prioritize, and deliver AI initiatives across the enterprise.
The team currently includes a small group of data scientists who are managing multiple existing initiatives. This newly created role expands the CoEβs ability to deliver, enabling more AI initiatives to move forward in parallel.

What You Will Do
β’ Own AI initiatives from concept through delivery
β’ Gather requirements directly from business stakeholders and ask clarifying questions
β’ Design and build AI agents and automation-focused solutions
β’ Write production-quality code across multiple contexts (Python, APIs, data workflows)
β’ Integrate AI solutions with enterprise applications using REST APIs
β’ Perform data manipulation and validation as needed to support AI use cases
β’ Document solutions and support production readiness
β’ Operate as a versatile, βjack-of-all-tradesβ contributor who can adapt across technical and business needs
How You Will Qualify
β’ Strong coding skills (Python and general software/data engineering fundamentals)
β’ Experience integrating with enterprise applications
β’ Comfort working with REST APIs
β’ Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders
β’ Outgoing, collaborative style with confidence engaging business users
β’ Ownership mindset and ability to lead initiatives independently
β’ Experience building AI agents preferred but not required
β’ Cloud experience (Azure or similar) is a plus, but not mandatory
β’ No requirement for a traditional data science background
