About the role Hunter Scouts is recruiting on behalf of a confidential large healthcare organization for a Senior Data Analyst to join an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team focused on CMS federal reporting for Medicaid and CHIP programs. This is a remote, W2 contract role with occasional travel (up to 15%) to Springfield, IL. In this role you'll analyze healthcare data, build and optimize SQL-driven reports and dashboards, ensure data integrity for CMS reporting (e.g., CMS-64/21), and work directly with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. You'll also mentor junior analysts and maintain technical documentation.
Responsibilities
β’ Analyze healthcare-related data to support CMS federal reporting (including CMS-64/21) and business decision-making
β’ Develop, optimize and maintain SQL-driven reports, dashboards and ETL logic
β’ Perform data profiling, validation and anomaly detection to ensure data accuracy and integrity
β’ Gather requirements from business stakeholders, write technical specs and support user acceptance testing (UAT)
β’ Document data processes, report logic and maintain technical documentation
β’ Present findings and provide regular project updates to clients and senior stakeholders
β’ Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members
Requirements
β’ Must currently be based within a 50-mile radius of Springfield, Illinois, United States
β’ Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship and able to work on a W2 basis (no C2C; no sponsorship)
β’ 5+ years of healthcare business analysis experience, including writing business requirements and conducting UAT
β’ 5+ years of SQL development experience including performance tuning; experience working in enterprise data warehouse (EDW) environments and applying data warehousing best practices
β’ 3+ years of experience working with State Medicaid and/or CHIP agencies on CMS federal reporting (CMS-64/21) or demonstrated ability to quickly acquire domain knowledge
β’ Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related STEM field
Preferred Skills
β’ Experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI
β’ Experience developing Adult/Child Core Measures, HEDIS, CHIPRA or similar quality metrics
β’ Experience with healthcare data systems (claims, eligibility, encounters)
β’ Experience working in Agile environments
β’ Strong stakeholder communication and presentation skills
