Role description
Title: Senior Data Analyst with P&C Location: Woodbridge, NJ Job Description: Knowledge, Skills and Education Required β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience), with 5-8 years of software development experience β€’ Experience in querying relational databases β€’ Experience in data mapping and transformation β€’ Knowledge of structured analysis β€’ Experience using a software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology, including project planning and estimating β€’ Experience with SQL with ability to create SQL queries for analysis and testing as well as assist developers in creating queries β€’ Effective oral and written communication skills β€’ Strong organizational skills β€’ Strong analytical skills and technical skills β€’ Ability to work with minimal direction β€’ Ability to lead, direct, and drive efforts of other team members β€’ Ability to work on multiple, concurrent projects β€’ Ability to effectively collaborate and build strong relationships with internal and external partners β€’ Attention to detail and quality β€’ Team player β€’ Strong motivational skills Duties and Responsibilities Specific responsibilities include: β€’ Analysis and clarification of business requirements both internal and external β€’ Provision of work effort estimates to Project Managers β€’ Development of detailed functional and system specifications using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and software tools. β€’ Collaboration with the Development team in all phases of the SDLC β€’ Development of use cases β€’ Design support, testing and monitoring of all required changes needed to maintain all compliance-related reporting and discretionary projects β€’ Creation of data and transformation mapping specifications β€’ Development of test plans and test cases, and execution of accurate and thorough testing β€’ Involvement in unit, integration, user and performance testing. β€’ Management of requirement and testing accountabilities through working closely with business and IT partners β€’ Support of audits and market conduct exams as needed Other highly valued skills include: β€’ Knowledge of the Property and Casualty Insurance industry desired β€’ Prior experience with statutory and compliance-related reporting a plus β€’ Proficiency with MS Office suite β€’ Prior Supervisory experience β€’ Exposure to DB2 and SQL Server databases β€’ Exposure to Cloud technologies β€’ Ability to think outside of the box and a strong desire to improve the status quo
