Role description
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support data reporting and analytics initiatives on a large energy infrastructure project. The role focuses primarily on hands-on data analysis, dashboard development, and reporting using Power BI and Excel. The analyst will work closely with project teams to clean, organize, and analyze data to support operational and financial decision-making.
This role is primarily a data analytics position with a smaller component supporting project accounting and reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities
Data analysis and reporting
• Perform detailed analysis of project data to support operational and financial reporting
• Clean, format, and validate datasets from multiple sources to ensure data accuracy
• Develop reports and dashboards to communicate insights clearly to project stakeholders
• Identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement
Power BI dashboards and reporting
• Design, develop, and deploy Power BI dashboards and reports
• Maintain and enhance existing dashboards to improve usability and performance
• Ensure consistency and reliability of data used in reporting tools
Data management
• Consolidate project data from multiple sources into structured reporting solutions
• Perform data transformation and formatting to support reporting and analysis
• Support development of standardized reporting practices across project teams
Stakeholder collaboration
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to gather reporting requirements
• Translate business requirements into practical reporting and analytics solutions
• Present insights and findings through clear visualizations and reports
Required Qualifications
• 5 to 10 years of experience in data analytics or business intelligence roles
• Strong experience performing hands on data analysis and reporting
Technical skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong Power BI experience including dashboard development and deployment
• Experience with data cleaning, transformation, and validation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Other skills
• Ability to analyze complex datasets and translate findings into actionable insights
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting large projects or project based environments
• Experience in engineering, infrastructure, construction, or EPC environments
• Experience with SQL or additional data analytics tools
Work Environment
• Hybrid schedule with three days onsite in Houston
• Collaborative environment supporting project and operational teams
