Role description
Mandatory Skills/Experience
β’ Minimum of five (10) years of source-to-target data mapping experience in a mixed Mainframe and Relational Database environments.
β’ Experience creating data dictionary documentation with business terms, valid values, and definitions.
β’ Experience converting/migrating VSAM data to relational/dimensional SQL distributed databases.
β’ Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience developing applications using IBM DataStage ETL.
β’ Experience extracting field references and calculated data from COBOL programs.
β’ Experience with BMC Control-M workload automation software.
β’ Experience with GIT version control software.
β’ Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience with Pension Administration systems.
Technical Ability :
β’ Strong SQL knowledge working with complex queries and stored procedures.
β’ Proficiency in SSRS reportsβ development.
β’ Strong analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to receive and analyze requirements and propose a suitable solution that adheres to the teamβs methodology.
β’ Ability to work in multiple environments: IBM Mainframe, Windows Server, and SQL Server.
β’ Proficiency in mainframe applications encompassing COBOL, CICS and DB2.
β’ Understanding of data structures and their relationship to ETL applications.
β’ Ability to develop complex SQL data validations based on STTMs and target data Models.
β’ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and information-gathering skills along with fundamental technical troubleshooting abilities.
Desirable Skills/Experience
β’ Experience extracting business rules from the existing legacy code.
β’ Experience with Data Quality/Profiling tools.
β’ Experience with Data Warehouses/Data Marts.
β’ Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
β’ Prior experience working in a pension system, preferably New York State or New York City pension system.
