Role description
Position: Data Analytics
Location: Carmel, IN (Hybrid, 4 days a week onsite)
Duration: Contract (22 months with likely extension)
Only local GC/USC candidates will be considered
Overview:
Assist with implementation of newly approved capacity market reform impacting generation resources. Work will be a mix of support of ongoing base business (particular focus on identifying and implementing streamlining opportunities) and implementation of new reform (assisting project team with overall implementation, with a focus on data manipulation, exception handling, and delivery of final work products).
Responsibilities:
• Data Analysis: Ability to understand and apply data inputs for Schedule 53A (recently approved capacity resource accreditation methodology)
• Ex: Calculations based on straight forward mathematics, but there is a significant amount of historic, hourly data involved, governed by sets of exceptions. Data resides in disparate systems.
• Streamlining: Apply understanding of process and data to defined streamlined processes
• Problem Solving: Ability to apply understanding to complex implementation challenges
• Ex: Most data sources exist, but may lack consistent naming conventions or contain gaps
• Organization / Attention to detail: Set milestones and manage work toward established timelines
• Collaboration: Working with diverse implementation team and stakeholders
• Documentation: Ensure implementation process is thoroughly documented
• Any experience in or exposure to the electric utility system is beneficial
• Managing large, granular (e.g.: hourly) data sets (experience with query tools, Python, etc. useful)
• Creation and use of analytical tools / calculations based upon such data sets
• Managing large, complex projects
