Role description
W2 Candidates Only who have experience with Fabric, Tableau and Power BI is required Senior Data Analyst Overview: This role is focused on standardization, data curation, and design of business intelligence endpoints that support business activities and decision-making. This individual will report to the Director of Business Intelligence and work closely with the Sr. Data Engineer to design, optimize, and model data for Underwriting, Accounting, Claims, IT, and Operations. One’s ability to be creative, highly communicative, open minded, and knowledgeable in data visualization is key in this role. Our BI technology is a data warehouse and semantic modelling in Microsoft Fabric. Strong expertise in PowerBI, Tableau, and Excel are essential. Success in this role requires someone who aspires to be a great colleague and has polished endpoint design experience in reporting technologies. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Systematizes solutions for recurring reports and data in response to internal and external requests. Triages, queries data for, and presents information in response to ad-hoc data inquiries. β€’ Triages new information / report requests and considers the existing reports portfolio. The Analyst documents report inventory, seeks opportunities for reports consolidation, and automates BI solutions for operational efficiency. β€’ Organizes and standardizes data processes, designs data output and delivery of information in response to regulatory data filings from the data warehouse. β€’ Partners with Underwriting to design endpoint solutions for agency audit data from the data warehouse. β€’ Leads and trains the organization on technology engagement within PowerBI and our shared model in MS Excel. Assists others in developing a comfort level with technology for data exploration. β€’ Leads modernization of data delivery, transitioning the organization and our wholesale agents from BI Team distribution of recurring reports to comfort with self-service reports in an online portal (PowerBI Embedded for external users). β€’ Leads migration of existing data visualization and reports from Tableau into PowerBI and the Excel shared model. Automates delivery of recurring (monthly) exposure and wholesale agent reports. β€’ Manages and maintains Microsoft Purview data definitions and governance documentation. β€’ Works closely with the business to understand informational needs, designs scorecards and dashboards, and assists the Data Engineer to model information in MS Fabric. β€’ Coordinates planning with Data Engineer for new data sources to be ingested into warehouse, determines what reporting impacts there are, and resolves those impacts. β€’ Assists in business research initiatives with expertise in data analysis, chooses the best data visualization to illustrate findings. β€’ Takes a continuous learner’s approach to maintaining industry knowledge and technical skillset. β€’ Journals work assignments for the benefit of team knowledge management. β€’ Upholds data governance by journaling all data asset and definitional information within Microsoft Purview. β€’ Assists with executing and delivery of operational reporting as needed. Qualifications: β€’ E&S Insurance experience a plus (homeowners & commercial insurance) β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a STEM related field; related work experience can be substituted for educational requirements. β€’ Clear understanding and engineering in Fabric database (ETL, pipelines, staging tables, dimension & fact tables, schema design). β€’ 5+ years in PowerBI (including DAX and Power Query), Tableau, MS Excel (Strong PowerBI development skillset essential). β€’ 5+ years in Power Automate for data ingestion and processing β€’ 5+ years writing complex T-SQL queries for SQL Server β€’ Design experience with Microsoft Fabric architecture is preferred. β€’ Experience detailing business process and data flow process diagrams in MS Visio, identifying opportunities, and recommending solutions for opportunities identified. β€’ Strong documentation and journaling of work.
