About the Role
We're partnering with an innovative video streaming company that delivers content to millions of viewers across live and on-demand platforms. As the business continues to scale globally, they're looking for a Senior Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of a modern cloud-based data platform built on AWS.
You'll play a key role in defining enterprise data architecture, enabling real-time analytics, machine learning, content intelligence, and customer insights that improve the viewing experience.
What You'll Do:
β’ Design and own the enterprise data architecture for large-scale streaming and media platforms.
β’ Build scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data solutions using AWS services.
β’ Define data models, governance standards, and architectural best practices across the business.
β’ Design batch and real-time data pipelines supporting viewer analytics, content recommendations, advertising, and operational reporting.
β’ Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives from legacy platforms to AWS.
β’ Work closely with Data Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, Product, and Platform teams to deliver high-quality data products.
β’ Establish data governance, metadata management, lineage, and security frameworks.
β’ Drive architectural decisions around data lakes, lakehouses, and data warehouses.
β’ Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple projects.
β’ Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements to the existing architecture.
What We're Looking For:
β’ 8+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Enterprise Data Platform design.
β’ Extensive hands-on experience designing cloud-native data platforms on AWS.
β’ Strong expertise with:
β’ AWS Glue
β’ Amazon S3
β’ Amazon Redshift
β’ AWS Lambda
β’ Amazon EMR
β’ Amazon Kinesis
β’ Strong SQL skills and experience designing relational and dimensional data models.
β’ Experience building modern data lakes and lakehouse architectures.
β’ Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and orchestration tools.
β’ Knowledge of streaming data technologies and event-driven architectures.
β’ Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
β’ Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and master data management.
β’ Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
β’ Experience within video streaming, OTT, broadcast, or digital media.
β’ Experience supporting recommendation engines or personalization platforms.
β’ Familiarity with Apache Spark, Kafka, Iceberg, or Delta Lake.
β’ Experience with Databricks or Snowflake.
β’ Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
β’ AWS Professional or Specialty certifications.
