Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in Azure and Databricks to design, build, and optimize scalable data platforms and solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud data architectures, data engineering, and advanced analytics, with the ability to lead teams and collaborate with business stakeholders to transform data into actionable insights. Key Responsibilities • Design, implement, and maintain modern data architectures leveraging Azure Data Services (Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, etc.) and Databricks. • Architect data platforms following the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) for structured and unstructured data. • Define and enforce data standards, governance, security, and compliance across the enterprise data ecosystem. • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient data solutions. • Architect batch and real-time data pipelines for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources. • Optimize performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of data solutions in cloud environments. • Provide technical leadership to data engineering teams, guiding solution design, best practices, and code reviews. • Partner with BI, Analytics, and Data Science teams to enable advanced analytics, ML/AI use cases, and predictive insights. • Stay up to date with emerging cloud, big data, and analytics technologies to recommend innovative solutions. Required Skills & Experience • 8+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or related roles. • Strong expertise in Azure Data Platform services (Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB). • Hands-on experience with Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark, MLflow, notebooks, cluster optimization). • Solid knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT design patterns. • Proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, and performance tuning for big data environments. • Experience with real-time streaming solutions (Azure Event Hub, Kafka, Spark Streaming). • Knowledge of data governance, security, compliance, and metadata management frameworks. • Familiarity with DevOps & CI/CD practices for data pipelines (Azure DevOps, Git, Terraform). • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams. Good to Have • Experience with Power BI or other visualization tools. • Exposure to Machine Learning / AI workloads in Databricks. • Knowledge of industry-specific data solutions (e.g., Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare). • Certifications in Azure Data Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect, or Databricks.
