Data Engineer / Senior Data Engineer £440/day (DE) | £540/day (Senior DE) | Inside IR35 | BPSS Clearance Required Hybrid – Morpeth (one day every other week) Initial 3-month contract | Start ASAP About the Role We are recruiting three Data Engineers — one Senior and two at Consultant level — to join a data transformation programme within a large public sector organisation. This is a Microsoft Fabric-focused engagement, delivering data integration, transformation and visualisation solutions across a complex, multi-system environment. You will work as part of an agile delivery team, building and maintaining data pipelines, integrating platforms and line-of-business applications, and developing Power BI dashboards that support operational insight and channel shift analysis. The Senior role carries additional responsibility for technical leadership and mentoring. Key Responsibilities • Design, build and maintain bronze–silver–gold data pipelines within Microsoft Fabric • Integrate contact centre platforms, CRM systems and line-of-business applications into the data platform • Implement data matching and quality rules across ingested datasets • Optimise Lakehouse architecture and semantic models for Power BI reporting • Develop intuitive Power BI dashboards enabling analysts to unlock meaningful operational insights • Contribute to shared data engineering standards and documentation • Work collaboratively within an agile delivery team with strong stakeholder communication • Senior only: provide technical leadership, drive engineering best practice and mentor less experienced team members Skills & Experience Required • 7+ years’ experience delivering data integration, transformation and visualisation solutions • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric (essential) • Proficient in Azure data services; AWS cross-cloud exposure advantageous • Experience integrating contact centre platforms (including AWS Connect), CRM systems and operational applications • Proven ability to build and optimise Lakehouse and semantic models • Strong Power BI dashboard development skills • Experience implementing data quality and matching rules • Public sector or government experience preferred • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills • Senior only: demonstrable technical leadership and team mentoring experience Clearance & Compliance • BPSS clearance required (or willingness to undergo screening) • Inside IR35 Interested?
