Senior Data Engineer (12M FTC) | Investment Data Transformation Own the data engineering capability for a world-class investment platform We’re hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join a high-performing Investment Data & Operations team with one of our client organisations, delivering a major data transformation programme across a complex, multi-asset portfolio. You’ll act as the go-to technical lead for investment data, owning pipeline architecture, driving automation across operations, and ensuring data is reliable, scalable, and decision-ready. 🔧 What you’ll be doing • Own the end-to-end data pipeline ecosystem (APIs, integrations, data flows across multiple platforms) • Define and implement data architecture, standards, and governance frameworks • Build and scale robust, production-grade pipelines supporting reporting & analytics • Drive automation across investment operations — removing manual, spreadsheet-heavy processes • Develop dashboards, reconciliation tools, and operational intelligence solutions • Partner with data, tech, and investment teams to deliver real business impact 🎯 What we’re looking for • 5–10+ years’ experience in data engineering within asset management / financial services • Strong Python & SQL — you’ve built and owned pipelines in production • Proven experience designing data architecture and integration frameworks • Track record of automating operational workflows end-to-end • Strong understanding of investment data (portfolios, transactions, valuations, performance) • Comfortable leading from the front — owning delivery, influencing stakeholders, and setting direction 💡 Why this role? • High ownership — you’ll define how data engineering is done in the investment function • Transformation-focused — real opportunity to modernise systems and workflows • Senior visibility — work directly with investment, operations, and tech leadership 💰 Package • Competitive day rate / salary range (depending on experience) • 12-month fixed-term contract with high potential for extension • Opportunity to work on a major data transformation programme within a highly regarded investment environment If you’re a hands-on senior engineer who enjoys building, owning, and transforming — this is a standout opportunity.
