Role description
We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Senior Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team. This role plays a critical part in building and scaling enterprise behavioral and digital data platforms that enable trusted analytics and AI‑ready data across the organization.
You will design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines, model complex high‑volume datasets, and deliver well‑structured data products that support business insights, experimentation, and advanced analytics. This is a delivery‑focused engineering role requiring deep technical expertise in Azure, Databricks, and Synapse, along with experience managing large‑scale behavioral and ecommerce data in enterprise environments.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles, delivering cloud‑based data solutions
Strong hands‑on expertise with Azure Databricks and Azure Synapse Analytics, including Spark‑based processing
Experience designing and supporting modern data architectures (Lakehouse, ETL/ELT pipelines, batch and near‑real‑time processing)
Advanced SQL skills for complex data transformations and performance optimization
Proven experience modeling and managing large‑scale, high‑volume behavioral and ecommerce datasets
Strong understanding of BI enablement and best practices for self‑service analytics
Hands‑on experience with Unity Catalog and data cataloging/governance tools (e.g., Alation)
Working knowledge of behavioral analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics and Adobe Customer Journey Analytics (CJA)
Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical and non‑technical teams
Experience operating in agile delivery environments, balancing speed, scalability, and solution quality
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations using Databricks, Spark, and Synapse
Model high‑volume, complex event‑level datasets (digital behavior, ecommerce transactions, marketing interactions) to support dashboards, experimentation, machine learning models, and downstream activation
Enforce data governance, discoverability, and stewardship using Unity Catalog and data cataloging tools, ensuring compliance, lineage, and metadata management
Validate, reconcile, and ensure consistency of behavioral data pipelines against established analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics and Adobe Customer Journey Analytics
Partner with data architects, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted, reusable, and well‑structured datasets
Mature ingestion, processing, orchestration, and curation capabilities leveraging Delta Lake optimization, Databricks Workflows, and Synapse for analytical consumption
Support and optimize semantic models and data marts that enable self‑service analytics through Power BI and AI‑enabled BI dashboards
Participate in agile delivery practices including sprint planning, backlog refinement, documentation, and delivery tracking using Jira and Confluence
Document data assets, pipelines, and transformations to ensure transparency, discoverability, and long‑term maintainability
