Senior Data Engineer

Apache NiFi Engineer - Scala to Snowpark migration I'm looking for a Senior Apache NiFi Engineer to support an urgent data migration project from Scala to Snowpark. A previous delivery partner has left the platform in an unstable state and the focus of this engagement is to rapidly diagnose issues, stabilise pipelines and propose a re-engineered approach to get the programme back on track. This is a short, high-impact engagement requiring someone experienced in walking into complex, legacy estates and delivering clarity fast with the view to convert to a long term engagement. • Likely to fall Inside IR35 - rate depending on experience • 4 weeks initially with the view to become ongoing, starting Feb • Hybrid London working Key Objectives (First 4 Weeks) • Rapidly assess the current Apache NiFi estate and data flows • Diagnose and resolve connectivity, pipeline build and stability issues • Untangle legacy / outdated architecture and integration patterns • Identify root causes and define a clear recovery and re-engineering plan • Support onboarding of the platform into Snowflake • Work closely with engineers onsite to stabilise delivery and unblock progress Required Experience • Strong, hands-on experience with Apache NiFi in production environments • Proven ability to debug broken pipelines, connectivity issues and misconfigured flows • Experience running or supporting NiFi in containerised / Kubernetes environments • Solid understanding of Snowflake ingestion patterns • Comfortable working with messy legacy estates and re-architecting under pressure • Able to operate autonomously, engage engineers directly and communicate clearly with stakeholders
