Job Summary
· We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer with 10+ years of expertise in designing, building, and optimizing enterprise-scale data platforms within the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in developing scalable data pipelines, implementing data governance standards, and leveraging AWS cloud technologies to support regulatory reporting, risk management, fraud analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.
· The candidate should possess deep expertise in SQL, Python, ETL development, cloud-native architectures, and large-scale data engineering while ensuring data quality, security, compliance, and governance across enterprise data assets.
Key Responsibilities
· Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for structured and unstructured financial data.
· Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, cleanse, transform, and load data from multiple internal and external sources.
· Develop high-performance data processing frameworks using Python and SQL.
· Implement enterprise-wide data governance policies, metadata management, lineage, and data quality frameworks.
· Design and optimize cloud-based data architectures using AWS services.
· Develop batch and near real-time data integration solutions.
· Optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database performance.
· Build reusable data ingestion frameworks supporting multiple financial applications.
· Collaborate with Risk, Finance, Compliance, Fraud, Treasury, and Analytics teams.
· Ensure data security, encryption, and regulatory compliance (SOX, GDPR, PCI DSS, BCBS 239 where applicable).
· Monitor pipeline performance and implement automated alerting and recovery mechanisms.
· Participate in architecture reviews and recommend best practices for scalable data engineering solutions.
· Support migration of on-premise data platforms to AWS cloud.
· Mentor junior engineers and establish engineering standards.
