Role description
Hybrid Every Other Week onsite / 5 days in Westlake, TX
Our client seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and scale enterprise data platforms supporting batch and real-time processing. The role focuses on Snowflake-centric warehousing, high-availability pipelines, streaming architectures, and cloud optimization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions, implement governance and observability, and evolve platform tooling and best practices.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $70.00 to $74.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines for batch and real-time processing.
• Architect and implement enterprise data warehousing solutions with Snowflake.
• Build and manage high availability and fault-tolerant data transformation pipelines.
• Develop and optimize real-time event-driven data architectures using streaming technologies.
• Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Implement data quality, governance, and observability across the data platform.
• Optimize performance and cost efficiency in cloud-based data systems.
• Contribute to platform evolution including tooling, frameworks, and best practices.
• Ingest data into AWS S3 and build ETL workflows to Snowflake.
• Develop AWS Lambda functions in Python and manage IAM for secure data operations.
Must Have Skills:
• 8+ years of Data Engineering experience
• AWS experience, specifically Lambda using Python, IAM, and S3
• Experience building ETL data workflows from AWS S3 to Snowflake
• Snowflake development experience, including building landing tables
• SQL experience for data validation and cleansing
• CI/CD experience using Jenkins and GitHub
Preferred Skills:
• AWS Sagemaker
