Title: Senior Data Engineer, Fleet Operations & Analytics Location: Foster City, CA, United States Onsite In Person (Mon. - Fri.) Pay Rate: $103.00 - $108.00/hr (w2) JOB DESCRIPTION We are helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a Senior Data Engineer, Fleet Operations & Analytics to build and maintain the data infrastructure that powers the company's autonomous fleet operations. In this role, you will design scalable pipelines to process vehicle telemetry, create feedback loops that drive product improvements, and enable data-driven decision making across operations, safety, and engineering teams. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field with 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, ML, and predictive analytics. As a Senior Data Engineer, Fleet Operations & Analytics, you'll: Data Infrastructure & Pipelines Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to process vehicle telemetry, service logs, and operations data. Build/maintain real-time data pipelines that process fleet telemetry, mission status, and dispatch data. Implement monitoring/alerting systems for data quality, latency, and availability. Integrate multiple software platforms and design large-scale data processing systems. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Analytics Partner with operations teams (e.g., fleet ops, safety, remote assist) to define KPIs and provide accessible, reliable datasets. Enable self-service analytics by designing well-documented datasets and tools for dashboards. Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and operations analysts to integrate ML models into production workflows. Collaborate with product/operations leadership to translate business needs into data-driven solutions. Operational Excellence & Automation Build lightweight automation systems and dashboards to reduce manual workload on dispatch/readiness teams. Develop APIs and pipelines that integrate operational data directly into decision-making tools. Create structured feedback loops where operational learnings are captured, analyzed, and fed into engineering roadmaps. Partner with product/operations engineering teams to address recurring issues/inefficiencies.
