Role description
Senior Data Engineer | 6 Months | £600/day We're an innovative consultancy that helps organisations use technology to drive business success. We're looking for someone who builds durable, well-crafted data systems, knows Databricks well, and hits the ground running from day one. This is an initial 6-month contract, inside IR35. Day rate: £600 What you'll be working on: You'll embed within software delivery teams helping clients replace brittle ETL, build lakehouse architectures, and get their data ready to safely support AI and ML workloads. This isn't a standalone data gig. You'll work alongside software craftspeople, architects, and client engineers, with data as one part of a broader delivery picture. What we need from you: ✅ Hands-on Databricks experience: Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows, notebook-to-production patterns ✅ Solid pipeline fundamentals: testable, version-controlled, built for production ✅ Comfortable with the broader stack: dbt, Apache Spark, data quality frameworks ✅ Understands what AI/ML systems need from data: feature pipelines, MLflow, embedding and retrieval, vector stores ✅ Strong software foundations: CI/CD for pipelines, clean code, IaC ✅ Experienced with AWS or Azure Why Join Codurance • Contribute to shaping the future of software delivery by working with a leading global consultancy. • Collaborate with an inspiring community of craftspeople dedicated to continuous learning and growth. • Engage in diverse client projects, ranging from greenfield startups to large enterprise modernisation. • Build relationships, foster collaborative environments, and make a lasting positive impact. • Work within a flexible remote-first model with travel limited to occasional London visits. We're a software craftsmanship consultancy with serious engineering standards. You won't be thrown at a client and left to figure it out; you'll be part of a delivery team that cares about how things are built, not just whether they ship. Everyone should have the right to bring their whole self to work and be celebrated for who they are. Our people are hired purely on their commitment to these values and their ambition to deliver outstanding results for our clients. Codurance is proud to be an Equal Opportunities Employer and is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace.
